Dawn of War

Dawn of War

Dawn of War

Dawn of War, abbreviated as DoW, is a RTS game based on the Warhammer 40000 universe. It has many expansions that add nearly every 40k Army.
Dawn of War
A real-time strategy (RTS) video game is a strategic game that is distinctly not turn-based. Some RTS gameplay mechanics used are resource gathering, base building and technological development.

This game uses those mechanics, however encourages the use of small-scale skirmishes - well, small, when compared to the larger ones in Command and Conquer and the colossal wars in Supreme Commander!

DoW has three expansions, each adding one or two factions: Winter Assault – Imperial Guard; Warhammer 40000 Dark Crusade – Tau and Necrons; and Soulstorm – Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar.

DoW Tactics:

Dawn of War
A tactic many people use is rushing. This usually means building up a small strike force to harass the enemy base, while building a bigger force to finish the job of destroying the enemy base.

Other tactics used are Turtleing, and Guerilla. Turtleing involves building an extremely well fortified base, which gives your opponent a hard time to win.

Guerilla tactic is all about being sneaky and out-maneuvering your opponent. This typically fits the playing style of Eldar, and even Chaos. Chaos Space Marines have a stealth upgrade...

The game also comes with an "Army Painter" that allows you to create your own armies that can even be crazy color schemes.

If you enjoy games that require lots of skill and keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire game, then this game is for you!

Warning: it will extensively use your brain!
