Tau Empire

Tau Empire The Tau Empire is a young race, discovered by mankind while they were still experimenting with fire. Ironically, they are currently one of the most advanced races, with really advanced guns, skimmer tanks, and even battle suits. They appeal anime fans, as they look like something out of an anime mecha movie.

Tau Empire

The Empire specializes in really powerful shooting, but, in exchange, they, suck at close combat... Obviously!
Tau Empire

The armor used by Tau units is decent, next after a marine armor. I actually love the battle suits! They are the main reason I would like to start a Tau army.
Tau Empire

As I mentioned before, the Warhammer-40K Tau have some of the most powerful guns in the 40k universe! From their basic rifles, which are the best “basic” guns, to the devastating Railgun which can annihilate any tank it sets it’s laser targeter on...

The Basic Tau Armies are Both Mobile & Static:

  • Mobile
  • is when you have lots of skimmers, battle suits, etc. Mobile is where you move so much that your opponent has no chance of hitting you, constantly harassing your forces. I find mobile much more deadly, but you have to practice quite a bit to see what works for you.

  • Static
  • is essentially a firebase. You campers! Static is just shooty death, not allowing you to get within their rapid-fire range.Static works too, but with the new rules, this means that your opponent will get cover saves from your extremely powerful guns! Throwing points away into random low AP values works, but then keep in mind you want to negate the 4+ save from forests, ruins, etc.

    “Jump, Shoot, Rinse & Repeat”:

Another particularly annoying tactic that works extremely well is the infamous battle suit “Jump, shoot, rinse and repeat”. This is taking advantage of the battle suits assault move. Basically you hide your suits in cover; jump out and getting within perfect range and denying cover-saves, and jumping back into cover, potentially getting shots off at your opponent and running away before he has a chance to respond.

    In My Opinion...

The Tau Empire are one of those armies which are difficult to master, but once mastered, are a near unstoppable army of shooty death. If you want some fighting, consider a few Kroot squads. Even though the new rules weakened the unit, they still are a unit to be considered!
