Warhammer 40K Necrons

Warhammer 40k Necrons
Warhammer 40k Necrons are the oldest race. It is also the most technologically advanced one, in the 40k Universe.

An ancient enemy of the Eldar, unlike any other race, the Necrons is an entire race of machines!
Warhammer 40k Necrons
In my opinion, and pretty much everyone I know that plays this game on a regular basis, Warhammer 40k Necrons is a really good beginner’s army. Because it is inexpensive, you don’t need much to make a full 1500 point army. The only problem with is that, after a while, we may get a bit bored...

Here are some tips and strategies:

Necrons require little tactics besides blasting the stuff out of your opponent! Using your destroyers speed as an advantage, you will find it very difficult to shoot them down, while they are giving a very, very heavy punch...

Keeping your warriors alive is essential to your win! The moment you lose 75 % of your models with the “Necron” special rule, your army simply disappears. And for sure, you don't like to lose!

We'll be back!

The thing that makes Necrons so intimidating is the “We’ll be back!” rule.

It is usually recommended to hide the Warriors in the cover, since they will not suffer death instantly. Also, a Tomb Spider is worth to get, because the Warriors will still get their “We’ll be back!” role.

Once, I played against a Necron player, and I successfully wounded about 50 Warriors alone. A total of 10 of them were put in the “Graveyard”. I can’t tell you how frustrated I was at that time ;-}

Now, look at the big one – the Monolith.

...and this is the incredible C’tan.

OK, let’s be honest now. Who on earth doesn’t think a Monolith is just downright cool? I would field one just because of its awesome looks. Personally I just think they are not worth it under at least 1500 points. They tend to be the biggest... And ONLY a target for anti-tank weapons!

C’tan are also really awesome, but, like the Monolith, I don’t think they are worth it, under 1500 points.Even if you CAN field them under 1500 points, since they are special characters…

They are ridiculously overpowered, and are extremely expensive in points. They are very tough, powerful, and are extremely hard to take down. Usually it’s either worth to get only a C’tan or a Monolith.

The most important thing to keep in mind: ALWAYS make sure you use as many warriors as you can. Your Warhammer 40k Necrons army will take a long, long time before phasing out…
