Warhammer Dark Elves

Warhammer Dark Elves are a race vicious Elves. They are harsh, and unlike Dark Elves in modern fantasy fiction, Warhammer's Dark Elves do not dwell underground, nor are they dark-skinned; instead many of them are pale skinned and have raven black hair.

In the fluff, Dark Elves were once apart of the High Elves. However a series of events, ultimately leading to the separation of the Elf races, led to the rise of the Dark elves.

Dark Elves are a fast, and heavy hitting army, however are relatively fragile. You must take advantage of their speed to make up for their fragility. Dark Elves also have powerful shooting and magic. They are noted for their brilliant wizards and spell casters. As with Dwarfs, I do not play Dark Elves, and as such, do not know many tactics. However, I can leech you some information from other sites to make your life easier. (Like I did for dwarfs :D )

Warhammer Dark Elves have many excellent ways to deliver death in the Magic Phase. The Lore of Dark Magic can give you an advantage with terrifying damage potential, and if you used Power of Darkness, you can keep delivering the packages of death without end.

Most of the time, it's always worth casting Power of Darkness with every Dark Elf Sorceress at the start of each Magic phase. This can give you a gargantuan stock pile of power dice, and even be able to out-magic Lizardmen players! And they got the best wizards in the game? I think not. There is a catch though, do not cast Power of Darkness for the heck of it, because keep in mind of the Drawbacks.

Their shooting is also awesome. While Dark Elves aren’t godly at shooting, massive firepower is available should you need it! Repeater Crossbows, Reaper Bolt Throwers and even the Black Ark Corsairs and War Hydra can all savagely annihilate targets.

Another note: The Reaper Bolt Thrower. It is ungodly, and every army should use one. Or two ^^. Simply point and shoot. Be it large or a big regiment, it can punch through anything.

Apart from everything mentioned above, Warhammer Dark Elves are a pure close combat force. When they charge they hit like a jackhammer destroying anything foolish enough to be in their path. The key is the Eternal Hatred special rule – re-rolling missed attacks in close combat… is… EXTREMELY destructive. Let’s put it this way. (Most of the time) You charge, they die.

Now finally, the Cold One Knights. These guys are probably the hardest-hitting heavy Calvary around. While stupidity may be an issue, they shouldn’t have too much of a problem. However they tend to start eating grass at the wrong moment, so try to keep them within 12” of your general.
